Paragliding is weather dependent, to avoid disappointment we highly recommend that you rather book paragliding for the beginning of your trip in Cape Town. That way we can advise on the best days to fly and find an alternative date incase the day you wanted to fly is not flyable because of bad weather. Contact us in the beginning and we will find you a timeslot according to your schedule.
We do have card facilities on site. Payments can be done either with Cash or Card on the day that you come for the flight.
The minimum age for paragliding in South Africa is 14 years.
If the weather is not safe, we do not fly. We’ll rather move your booking to another time or another day. Paragliding is weather dependent, so we keep an eye on the conditions and only go when it is safe and flyable.
There is a backpack on the back of the harness, we can fit small backpacks, handbags and valuables into the backpack. Your possessions will fly down with you and your instructor will check that you have everything back after the flight.
We operate 7 days a week, but only when the weather is safe to fly. Conditions can change quickly, so we always check before each flight. If you book early in your Cape Town trip, you’ll have a better chance of finding a good flying day.
Yes, tandem paragliding is safe when you fly with an experienced instructor in suitable weather. Our pilots have over 10 years of flying experience and thousands of flights behind them. We check the conditions before take-off and only fly when it is safe.
Yes. All of our tandem flights are instructional, so you’ll learn the basics while you fly. Your instructor will show you take-off, steering, lift, and landing. If you want to learn to fly solo, we also offer paragliding courses on set dates, and your tandem flight can count toward licence training.
Your flight time depends on the wind and lift on the day. From Signal Hill, flights are usually around 5 to 20 minutes. We’ll keep you in the air for as long as conditions safely allow during your time slot so you get the best possible experience.
We take photos and videos during all flights. After landing, we transfer them to your phone with an adapter. Please make sure you have 2 to 3 GB of free space available on your cellphone.
The easiest option is usually to take an Uber to Sky Safari Paragliding, 1 Signal Hill Rd, Signal Hill, Cape Town. Parking is limited at the launch site, but you’re welcome to come by car. After your flight, we’ll take you back up the mountain if needed.
We usually fly from Signal Hill, and we use Lion's Head when the wind is right. The launch site depends on wind direction and speed on the day, so we only choose the site that is safe and flyable.
Yes. If you’re already qualified, you can contact us for advice on flying in South Africa, book local site guiding, or join a group tour on set dates. We’ll help you make the most of your flying time.
Wear comfortable clothes and closed shoes. A light jacket is a good idea too, since it can feel cooler up in the air. Try to leave loose items at home, and if you want photos and videos, bring your phone with enough free storage.
Yes, you can. A gift card is a great way to give someone a flight as a present, and they can book their preferred date with us afterwards.
