HIKE AND FLY
Site guiding

Why walk down a mountain if you can fly down? Over the last 10 years paragliding equipment has become lighter and more compact with many designers focusing on making hike and fly paragliding more accessible and safer to pilots of all skill levels. To hike and fly safely a fit pilot can hike up almost any mountain, assess the weather conditions, take-off area, landing options, and fly from there.

. We host hike and fly days for pilots of all skill levels at various locations in the Western Cape.

Bring Your Crew — Guided Paragliding Tours

Gather your flying friends and let Sky Safari Paragliding show you the Western Cape from the air. Our guided tours are built around groups of pilots who want to fly the best sites South Africa has to offer, with a local instructor and tour guide handling the planning, the logistics and the driving so you can focus on flying.

Every tour is shaped by the weather. Each morning we head to the site with the best conditions, because our aim is simple: get you flying every single day. From coastal soaring to gentle thermic sites, we choose where to fly based on what is working best, so you spend maximum time in the air at sites suited to your level.

Two Ways to Fly With Us

Choose the tour that suits your time and ambition

7-Day Cape Town Tour

Seven days flying the iconic sites in and around the Mother City. Soar Signal Hill and Lion’s Head with Table Mountain as your backdrop, then chase thermals over the vineyards and mountains of the Cape Winelands. This tour packs in the spectacular city and coastal sites Cape Town is famous for, with our team selecting the best flying each day.

12-Day Garden Route & Cape Town Tour

Twelve days across two of the country’s finest flying regions. We split our time between the Garden Route — with its long coastal ridges, easy thermic sites and over ten take-offs around Wilderness and Sedgefield — and the dramatic sites of Cape Town. It is the ultimate paragliding road trip, designed to give you the widest variety of flying and the most time in the air.

More Than a Paragliding Holiday

For those who want the full Western Cape experience

Flying always comes first, but the Western Cape has so much more to offer. On days when the weather keeps us grounded — and in the hours around flying — we make the most of where we are. Think wine tastings in the Winelands, game drives and animal encounters, scenic sightseeing tours, hikes to hidden waterfalls, swims in mountain pools, and relaxed afternoons on some of the most beautiful beaches in the country.

Whether you want a pure flying mission or a holiday that blends paragliding with everything else this corner of South Africa is known for, we shape the tour around your group. Come for the air time, stay for the adventure.
